Chapter 75
His lips moved against hers but she remained frozen, his tongue brushed against her bottom lip and she tried earnestly not to wince. It wasn't that he was a terrible kisser, no it was the opposite,
He was wonderful at kissing but she just felt nothing.
She was expecting something to unfurl within her, maybe a tiny spark. But all she thought of while his lips were devouring hers was how different it would be if it was Alex kissing her. She thought of his smouldering dark eyes and his mint and sandalwood scent.
Maya's eyes popped open and she met his closed ones. His arms were resting on her hips, fingers digging into the material of her gown. She couldn't do this, she couldn't.
So Maya pushed at his chest, making his stagger backwards with a sharp gasp. She heaved, panting for breath. Derek looked baffled, the space between his brows furrowed deeply,
"Did I-" He stopped, swallowing tightly, "Did I do something wrong?"
