Chapter 78

Maya smiled softly as she submitted the exam sheet to Professor Corbin who offered her a single nod. She returned to her seat and then took the purse she'd slid under the writing desk. When she glanced up, her eyes connected with Jason's and he quickly looked away.

"Great," She muttered quietly and stood to her feet.

This was how it'd been since her confession. Jason had been actively avoiding both her and Gabrielle, although he was still in the house, he didn't speak to any of them. They had both tried to reach out to him, but he ignored them still.

"Jason!" She yelled out, chasing after him. He seemed to speed up his walking and she swore under her breath, increasing her pace. "Jason, wait up!" 

He abruptly stopped and she breathed out in relief, rushing forward. When she got in front of him, he swivelled around to face her,

"What?" He cocked a brow, his lips tightly pursed. "Do you have something to say?" 

She nervously licked her lip
