Book 5: The First Installment

Iris stood paralysed, watching the phone in his hand. Shyness gripped her hard as she considered ways to kiss him. The last time she had been upset with him. She had done the impossible impulsively. But now, with his heated gaze pinned on her, she couldn’t make a move.

“Umm, I’ll take it later. Thank you. If you don’t need me, I’ll leave. Good night, sir.” She took a few steps backwards, ready to flee.

“Wait, how will I call you? Here, come and take it…” He held out the phone to her, his unwavering gaze following her every move. 

Iris hesitated. Was it a ploy to get her closer? Yet a strange force pulled her towards him. She knew what would follow if she went closer, but she couldn’t decline him.
