Book 1: Trapped

Knox massaged his temples, ignoring Kendall’s call for the tenth time since the morning. He was at his wit’s end thinking of a way out of the engagement. Danielle’s innocent face crept into his mind and he felt guilty for not informing her. He would have to tell her tonight before Kendall approached her.

He muted his phone to get some mental peace and complete his work for the day. Danielle might have reached home by now and he should have left, too.

After an hour, Knox had wrapped up everything when there was a knock on his door. He looked up to see his stressed PA, Pete Richardson, peer into his room. Before he could speak, the poor guy was shoved aside as Sean Davis entered his office with his daughter.

“What the f*ck!” muttered Knox under his breath. He hadn’t expected them to be here at all. He got up to greet them with a fake smile on his face.
