Knox frowned, totally taken aback by Danielle’s retort. Did she really think he had married Kendall? Didn’t she know he hadn’t? Before he could correct her, his phone buzzed with an incoming call from Andrea. They had reached home, and he stopped the car in the driveway before taking the call.

“Can you come over right now? I have to take the twins to the doctor. Both have developed rashes and high fever!”

“Oh! Hang on, I’ll be there right away.” He disconnected the call and looked at Danielle with an apologetic look on his face. He didn’t have any wish to leave them and go, but Andrea needed him more. She had gone through a lot in the last six years! He had to be there for her.

“Please, make yourselves comfortable. I’ll join you right away.” Danielle pursed her lips and gave him a formal nod before alighted from the car.
