Third-Person POV
“Thank you.” Azeeva received a funnel of vanilla ice cream. But her smile quickly vanished before she could lick the sweetness of the ice cream. Azeeva’s ears twitched, catching a faint hint of unrest. Slowly, the sound grew clearer and closer. Violent shouts, thudding blows, and screams of fear followed. However, it needed to be clarified where the sound was coming from. Her eyes narrowed. The universe was quick to provide an answer.
Up ahead, looting? A riot?
A brutal mob was approaching and was now opposite Azeeva. They spun in circles, armed with clubs, bamboo sticks, and machetes. Sour, disheveled faces were evident. At the red light, pedestrian creatures and drivers of electric vehicles—anything unlucky enough to be passed by those people—were forcibly intercepted.
There were so many of them. About a dozen people controlled the streets. They finalized this action after John Robbert’s return.
