“Adrian, you cannot make that girl your Luna!” Selina said.

“And why not mum?” he asked. “You saw everything that happened. I didn’t plan for any of it to happen. It just did. This is the wish of the Moon Goddess. Who am I to oppose it?” Adrian asked rationally and then looking at his mother deliberately, added. “Who are we to oppose it!”

“There’s nothing wrong with breaking the mate bond and choosing another mate for yourself if the situation warrants it!” she suggested. “I have seen where fated mates don’t make good couples while chosen mates do.”

“You mean like you and Dad?” Adrian asked. “Were you ever happy with him? I mean we’re either of you truly happy with his and your choice?”
