“Exaggerate it?” Elena raised her voice. “Nathan, I’ve been betrayed before. That wound doesn’t just disappear. And now I see my husband easily letting another woman seek his attention. Do you expect me to stay silent?”

Nathan fell silent for a moment, his face softening slightly. Yet he still insisted. “I had no ulterior motives. Why can’t you trust me?”

Elena let out a long sigh. “Trust doesn’t just come, Nathan. You should be more considerate. I only want my husband to know his boundaries, not give other women the chance to step in.”

The atmosphere inside the car grew tense. Nathan gripped the steering wheel even though the car wasn’t moving. He looked conflicted, torn between wanting to explain and holding back his emotions.

“Elena, I—”

“Enough.” Elena immediately opened the car door. “I don’t want to argue any longer. I came here to see the children. That’s all.”

“Elena!” Nathan tried to stop her, but she had already stepped out of the car.
