Chapter 88

“Jonathan?” Madison called out again before he was able to answer.

“Yes Maddie,” Jonathan said with a very terrified voice.

“Where have you been?” Madison questioned with heartfelt concern.

Lila and Vera were within hearing range so they heard what Madison was saying to him. Lila was confused on what to do. If she was to stay quiet, Jonathan may end up exposing her over the phone.

“There is something you need to know Maddie,” Jonathan said with urgency in his voice.

“What?” Madison asked in a haste. “Tell me why you’ve been refusing to pick my calls!” she interrupted him with another question just when he was about to speak.

“Is that Jonathan?” Lila spoke in the background. She made sure she spoke loud enough for it to be heard by Jonathan.

As soon as Jonathan heard Lila’s voice, he hung up the phone and left Madison in great suspense.

“Jonathan! Jonathan!” Madison called out to him twice over the phone before finding out he hung up.
