Chapter 36

“Lucy, I was passing by and I heard a noise. Is everything okay?” Mrs Richards asked, making her way into the room. She almost slipped as a result of the water but Lucy caught her in time.

“Oh my word! Why is there water on the floor!?” She asked, catching her breath from the fall.

“Oh.. I will clean that up.” Lucy responded. Her response was lazy and reluctant. Mrs Richards noticed that her daughter's mood was worse than before.

“Oh Lucy, don't tell me that you're still thinking about what happened last night. I've told you to let it slide, you wouldn't be the first person to do it and you certainly will not be the last!” Mrs Richards frowned, leading her daughter to the bed.

“As my mother, you're supposed to be telling me why what I have done is a very terrible thing! Mom, I just cheated on my husband and you're okay with that!” Lucy fired.
