Chapter 48
“Alright. Well, goodbye Dean.” With that, he opened the door and left the office.
Cage felt a sense of relief and newness as he walked out of the Talons tower. Thankfully, he wouldn't be coming back and he would put everything in the past behind him. He boarded the train back home.
The divorce was really weighing down on Cage. Since that morning after signing the papers, he had not been himself. Partly, he blamed himself, maybe if he had just told her the truth from the onset, this wouldn't have happened.
But how could he tell him that he was an assassin? He couldn't bring himself to do that. He was heartbroken that Lucy was no longer his wife. He still loved her dearly, not minding the fact that she cheated on him. Yes, he was angry but he was going to forgive her later!
Now, he has lost her for good. It was the most painful thing he had ever felt.
