Chapter 171

Demetri’s POV

“Cole, I will remove the cath but I think you need some relief first.”

Numerous sounds at the end of the bed alert me to his activity but I don’t have a full understanding until Cole relaxes. His head rests against my arm with a slight sigh as the activity near his feet subsides.

It’s only the movement of the sheet beneath me a minute later and a slight whine from Cole that tells me that the catheter is gone and it’s only after I gingerly maneuver myself off of Cole that Caspian is able to look at his mouth. He has a nasty cut where the nurse’s blows forced him to bite the inside of his mouth but he decides to leave it be since it’s no longer bleeding and Cole is no longer complaining about it. It’s as Caspian is gathering supplies that Angela and Jessa arrive with the bed from the ambulance.
