“I am guessing that you are pregnant, yes?” She inquires and I almost nod, briefly forgetting that she said that she wanted verbal answers.

“Yes, I am,” I give her an answer.

“And how far gone are you?” She asks as she places her briefcase on her lap and opens it fully. There are a few compartments in the briefcase and I see a lot of medical-related instruments in it. There are also medicines, pills, IV lines, and several syringes among the many other things that she has in it.

“I think about a month?” I say tentatively and the doctor gives me a look.

“Well, I can’t be exact, but I found out that I was pregnant a month ago when I went to a club,” I say to her honestly and she smiles, showing no hint of judgment.
