Chapter 78. The Kidnapping!

As Mary walked away, Sofia could see the turmoil and conflict within her friend. She knew that pushing Mary further at that moment would only cause more harm, so she let her go, hoping that Mary would eventually come to terms with the truth on her own.

Feeling emotionally drained, Sofia decided to head back to her car. As she drove home, her mind was filled with thoughts of Ethan, Mary, and Mylene. She couldn't shake off the guilt she felt for being involved in such a complicated situation.

Back at Ethan's apartment, he slowly woke up from his alcohol-induced slumber. He felt a pounding headache and groaned as he tried to remember what had happened. The last thing he recalled was being at the bar with Sofia. He wondered if she had stayed with him or left after he fell asleep.

As he sat up on the edge of the bed, he noticed a note left on the bedside table. It was from Sofia. The note read, "Ethan, you fell asleep, so I didn't want to disturb you.
