Colt’s POV

I sucked at surfing today. Every wave I rode ended up causing me to lose my balance and wipe out.

“You are not concentrating!” Ray said, finding it annoying. Not that he cared; he was just as distracted as I was.

“I know,” I said, trying to catch the next wave. Kate’s body lying under me was the only thing that was popping up in my mind.

I could still feel, see, taste, and smell her.

My gaze snapped toward where she was sitting on the beach. She looked deep in thought. Was she thinking of me too? Was she regretting us mating?

A wave crashed over me, and I lost my balance and landed in the water.

I pulled my board closer and got on, waiting for the next wave.

Sam swam out, taking a seat next to Kate. He was more in control than any of us were.

I sighed.

Kate shook her head, looking nervously at Sam.
