Chapter 11
The creature showed up in later that day.
“You ate your meal,” he said as he gave the empty plates a glimpse.
I didn’t respond to him. All I did was watch him as I sought to associate the man standing in front of me to the one that broke down last night.
Seeing how damaged he looked then made me want to do nothing else but console him.
He stood in front of me for a long time. It was as if he were waiting for me to start my round of insults like I normally do.
However, I did nothing of that sort. I sat on the floor and watched him.
He came to my side and sat on the bed, still looking at me.
“What do you want?” I snapped when I deduced that was what he was looking for.
Unlike before, the sharp words held no fire in them.
He furrowed his brows as he watched me. It was as if he were trying to figure something out.
“Why aren’t you struggling?” he finally asked.
Up close, I was able to notice how handsome he was.
