Chapter 16
The entire place was similar to the night I came. There was no sign of anyone around.
The entire place was eerie, silent as a graveyard.
My eyes darted around as I tried to check if there was anyone around. And when I didn’t see, I hastened toward the gate, intent on leaving here.
There is no way I can stay here when the road to my freedom is near.
Just out of reflex, I turned to look at the window, which now has a light on it, like the last night I came to this place.
A gasp escaped my mouth when I saw the vampire standing at the window, looking down at me.
Gods.
Has he been there all along?
How possible is that?
The room was empty when I took off, how could he have been there without my knowing?
I thought he will come after me, but he didn’t. He just stood there, with his hands on his back, and he watched me.
Go to hell!
I said in my mind before I dashed toward the gate, and out of the palace, for good.
