“My lord?” Oliver approached with cautious steps, carrying a shadow of fear with him.
“Speak up!” I growled impatiently, my eyes scanning the fallen bodies around me, evidence of the havoc left by the beast after regaining consciousness.
“Some of them were humans, my king... I fear retaliation,” Oliver, the beta, murmured, his sharp analysis and caution marking each word.
“They would be more prey for our amusement.” I smiled malevolently, savoring the idea with satisfaction. “And what about Victoria? Any updates?”
I sensed my beta's unease; his eyes were fixed on the ground, the scent of fear lingering around him.
“SPEAK UP ALREADY!” I roared, making him tremble even more.
