Chapter 21
Karina
Myla was a wolf possessed.
She flew down every hallway, pausing only long enough to give a single sniff before racing off again. She stopped in the middle of a doorway and stared up.
Hundreds of wires hung from the ceiling and they writhed in the air, sparking with electricity as they did. But there in the middle of all of them, a shiny insignia waited.
“Wait, Myla,” I cautioned. “This looks dangerous.”
She snorted. “Do you really think you can stop me now? Getting that one will be the halfway mark. You might as well say goodbye to your precious servant.”
“That’s not why I’m telling you to watch out! We could die in there, Myla!”
“Shush, Karina, I know what I’m doing.” She ducked underneath the first swinging line, and eyed the spot in front of her. This time the cords trailed across the ground, but moved back and forth in a pattern.
