Myla leaped from the thin beam onto a small platform beneath the wall. A human would be able to stretch their limbs out and shimmy up the wall, but that wasn’t an option for Myla, not that Shepard would have let her get away with that in the first place.
She stretched as she eyed the pathway she’d take. “Hang on,” she told me before she made her first leap. Instead of the firm wall I expected, the spot was padded. Myla sunk into the softness.
I was about to fall to my death because my wolf was a daredevil. “Myla!”
Instead of answering me, she sprung off one side of the wall and to the other. Her body twisted in the air as she made her way up bit by bit until she made it to the top. Hanging above the only spot of safety, the diamond insignia waited.
Myla landed on the platform and stood up on her back legs, stretching up to gently bite the string that would release her prize.
