I received a text from Kayden: “My brother is the culprit. I’m working to catch him soon. Keep our secret from Damon. Just so you know, I aided his escape to find answers, but he fled with rogue friends.”

Shocked, I quickly texted back, “What happened I need a detailed answer?”

“It’s a story for our next date,” Kayden replied. “I hope I deserve a second chance.”

I couldn't help but be taken aback by his audacity. “Your brother is a suspect and you still dare to ask me out? You really have nerve,” I texted, a mix of surprise and annoyance in my words.
