Chapter 1. How the Baby Will Be Born

[This is just a curiosity about the story before we move on to the first chapter]

As noted in the title, this is an MPREG (Male Pregnancy) story, and to avoid confusion and navigate smoothly through the incredible tale of overcoming and romance, please read the following explanation:

The world has undergone an incredible mutation over the years, and in the world of "The Unknown Who Saved Me," men can also become pregnant.

This occurs due to a natural mutation where all human beings have a reproductive system, but in cisgender men, it is only "activated" during sexual intercourse, allowing for the fertilization of the eggs they release every time.

But you might be wondering: How can the baby be born?

It's simple! Just as the world underwent mutation, the way babies can be born has also changed.

Every human being has a part in their body called the "perineum" or "pelvic floor." Both men and women have it. In simple terms, it is the muscular area between the rear and front intimate parts.

This mentioned "area" transforms into an opening that allows the baby to pass through during a natural childbirth.

Now, enjoy your reading.

[This story involves Korean culture]

[Another thing is about the dialect used in the book]

There are terms that will be mentioned throughout the story, and I will explain them briefly in this chapter, so you don't get lost.

As mentioned before, the story is set in Korean culture, and therefore, we will use translated Korean dialect.

Some terms like "hyung," "noona," "oppa," "unnie," and "saeng" will be seen during the reading, but I will briefly explain what each one means.

Hyung = It is a term used by a man to address an older man.

[JunKoo always calls JaeMin and his friends "hyung" because he is the youngest among them.]

Noona = It is used by a man to address an older woman.

Oppa = It is used by a woman to address an older man.

[But at the beginning, JunKoo joked and used this term to get JaeMin's attention, since he refused to be called "hyung" due to being older.]

Unnie = It is used by a woman to address an older woman.

Saeng/Dongsaeng = It is used by an older person to address a younger person, regardless of gender.

With this explanation, I hope the reading becomes easier and more engaging. I hope you enjoy the book immensely.

Welcome to the first chapter!

POV: JaeMin

For the past few days, I haven't been feeling well.

Exactly two weeks ago, I started experiencing severe nausea and dizziness.

I had to go to the doctor and undergo several tests. My fiancé, LinHyun, was really worried about me, but there wasn't much he could do since he was on a business trip in Japan.

The test results came on the same day, and it was Dr. Kim's job to explain to me what was happening and calm me down after my breakdown upon hearing the news.

I'm four weeks pregnant, and LinHyun doesn't know yet. I decided to wait and tell him when he returns from his trip.

My mother, who lives in Busan, freaked out when she found out, and if she could have hit me over the phone, she would have, but after a lot of complaining and shouting, she started crying tears of joy at the realization that she would soon be a grandmother.

I decided to surprise LinHyun. I bought a baby outfit with "Daddy" written prominently on the front and placed it in a red box on the bed. When LinHyun arrived at our apartment, I greeted him with a long-awaited hug and a sweet kiss.

"I missed you," he said with a laugh, setting his suitcase aside and hugging me back. "How are you? Are you feeling better?"

I nodded, still holding onto him, feeling an overwhelming need for affection.

"I'll take a shower, and then we can order something to eat, okay?"

He kissed my forehead and headed for the bedroom.

I followed him, eager to see his reaction.

He would probably cry. We never talked about having a child, but I don't think the idea sounds bad. I believe he will be happy.

As he entered the room, I stopped at the door, watching him. He looked at the box and then looked back at me with a smile.

"What's this?" he asked, holding the box in his hands.

"Open it," I said, stepping closer, feeling my hands tremble with anticipation. I was very nervous.

"Is it some lace piece? You know how much I love seeing you in those, right?" He kissed me and smiled, but I shook my head.

"Just open it, you tease," I said, my smile fading as I grew more anxious.

He looked at me one last time and opened the box.

At first, his reaction was neutral. He looked inside the box, standing still for several seconds, and then looked at me with a serious expression. He sat on the bed, took the outfit out of the box, and placed it on the bed. I was trembling too much, trying to reach out to him, but he quickly stood up and moved away.

"What is this?" he asked, facing away from me. I was still smiling, but my smile vanished in an instant. "JaeMin, what is this?"

I looked at him, frightened. I tried to touch him again, but he held my hands.

"JaeMin... We can't."

I stepped back. He looked at me seriously again.

"I-I thought that we..."

"No, JaeMin, we can't. I... can't."

"LinHyun, please, I..."

"No!"

"And what do you want me to do? LinHyun, I'm pregnant. I'm four weeks along, love."

"Four weeks? How could I have been so careless... damn it. JaeMin, I'll find a way, okay? I won't let this... this thing change everything."

"This thing?" Tears welled up in my eyes. "This thing is our child!"

"No, you can't. I-I know a great doctor who... who can fix this. We..."

"I can't believe you're saying this, LinHyun," I interrupted, feeling my hands trembling.

"I am!" He started undressing to take a shower. "We can't let this happen. Tomorrow, we'll go to the doctor and sort this out."

"I'm not going anywhere. It's my child."

"I don't want this child, Song!" he raised his voice, startling me with his tone.

"But I do, Hyun! It's my body, and neither you nor any doctor will lay a hand on this child!" I shouted, trembling intensely, which probably wasn't good for the baby.

He looked at me, smiling in a way completely unfamiliar to me, walking towards me and stopping in front.

"And how will you raise this child alone? Have you forgotten that you live this life of luxury thanks to me? If you want that to continue, it will be like this. It will be like this until the end."

Tears began streaming down my face. The man I loved, who was ready to start a family, was humiliating me?

"I am an artist, and I can live off my paintings," I said through tears.

He laughed, denying it. My suffering seemed to amuse him.

"Stop crying, and I've already said it, I don't want this child, JaeMin. It's decided."

"I won't get rid of it!" I shouted.

"Then you'll have to forget about me!" I looked at him, unable to believe his words. "Either stay with me as long as you can, or be with this... this baby and be alone in the world."

I stood up, feeling tears drenching my face and part of my neck desperately, and went to the closet to get my suitcase.

"Are you really going to do this?" LinHyun asked.

He was right behind me. I opened the suitcase and placed it on the bed, then went back to the closet to get my clothes.

"JaeMin, look at what you're doing! Are you really going to ruin everything for something so small? I love you, we can live well for the time we have, just the two of us."

"You're the one ruining everything! You only think about yourself!" I yelled, throwing the clothes into the suitcase and looking at him. "This was supposed to be a beautiful moment, LinHyun. Do you know how many times I've cried in the past two days? I imagined your best reaction! I thought you loved me and that every time you said I was the only family by your side, it was real! But no, to you, I'm just the laid-back boyfriend who lives off the luxury you provide."

"I didn't mean that, Minnie. I..."

I wiped my face with my hands, drying the tears and looking him in the eyes.

"I have a career too, maybe not as big as yours, but it's my pride. I'm leaving because I love my child. I found out about him two days ago, but I already love him so much, and I won't give up on something I want because of you!"

"You're being foolish."

"I'm doing the right thing. I thought I loved a man, but I love a coward. I didn't make this child alone, LinHyun, but I will take care of him, this way."

"JaeMin, please," he held my arm as I closed the suitcase and placed it on the floor, putting on my shoes afterwards.

"I'll come back for the rest of my things later," I warned before leaving.

I was crying, leaving him behind and moving forward with only my clothes and my baby.

That's all I had now.
