Chapter 16. The Honour of Brotherhood
Smiling, I jogged back through the front door, and not for the first time, I was surprised by how extravagant the house seemed. This was our headquarters and home of the Sparrow brothers—a pack in its own right. Not that all recognised us as alphas within our family or most social circles; we were merely seen as the cleaners—those you called when the trash or enemy needed taking out.
This worked to our advantage for now, as we had led Lottie to believe this was her one-day pack. We had thought it would be better for her, less overwhelming, and it was a plus that it made it easier for us to protect her here. The Royal pack Lottie would one day lead was far grander, and unfortunately for her and those pups she carried father deadlier than anything she had faced before. This description, though, was another burden I bore quietly.
