Chapter 26. New Beginnings

The night arrived cool, with no clouds or chill. The stars sparkled in celebration, illuminating the dark sky as the moon rose on the horizon, big and round. Juliano and I stepped out of our trailer at the appointed time for the start of the party. Some couples were around, but none of our friends were in sight, so we headed towards the lake. I hugged him from behind, kissing his fragrant hair and squeezing him tighter in my embrace.

"Tonight, after a long time, I feel happy," my words sent shivers down Juliano's spine, and I could see a silly smile forming on his lips. "I love you so much."

He turned to me, his eyes shining like the starry sky. We stood very close, and soon our lips sought contact, initiating a sweet kiss with small sighs coming from him. I held his face in my hands while he hugged me, warming our bodies.
