Chapter 4
Kalla's POV
I woke up to my mother's pat on my cheek.
"Kalla, my daughter. Wake up there; what happened to you?" I rubbed my eyes and started to get up.
"Mother?" I looked around me in wonder.
The last thing I remember was Princess Theresa still tw***ng me.
"What happened to me, mother? Why am I sleeping?"
"I don't know about you; I was just surprised, and our guest brought you to the kitchen himself because he said he saw you sleeping by the window. "Don't you feel good?"
I slept by the window. Did the princess tease me so much that I passed out? Our guest himself picked me up.
It's a shame.
"No, mom, I feel fine. Maybe I just lack sleep. I'll just thank our guest." She nodded at me.
"Easy, and bring it to the dining table when you get back to our room. Go to bed first, child; postpone reading the books first. You almost live in the library; you need a break too."
"Alright mom." I handed her the small basket with the grapes.
A long table greeted me. King Aragon and Queen Meiya are here, as are our unfamiliar guests.
I bowed to catch their attention because of my arrival. The kings and queens smiled at me. Princess Theresa's face soured as the boy frowned at me; if I'm not mistaken, it was a prince.
They returned to laughing. Princess Theresa and the prince, side by side.
"How did you know, father, that I was with you?" He looked annoyed.
I started to approach the table.
"Of course, you are my silliest son. I will know all your nonsense." He squeezed his son's nose, which became more irritated.
The kings and queens laughed again. Even I smiled sparingly. He's a spoiled brat.
"You! Why are you laughing at me?" I turned around a few times.
"I?" The prince raised his eyebrows at me.
"Who else?" He exaggeratedly rolled his eyes at me. Seriously? Is he gay?
I heard the other queen's laugh.
"Look, Thaddeus. Your son is really imitating Dastan's gesture. You can't copy his gesture; that's your brother's signature."
"Mother! I am not copying his gesture; only Dastan can lick. I am annoyed with him." The queen turned to me.
"She's a cute little girl." "Who is she?" it asked.
"Kallaine, come here, hija. She's our daughter's friend." Introducing me to the King of Aragon.
"Yeah, she's my friend." Princess Theresa answered quickly. He smiled so sweetly at us all.
Something I just witnessed We're friends now? Maybe he's regretting what she did to tease me.
I put the basket with grapes on the table. I also smiled sweetly at Princess Theresa. I was happy, and she called me her friend.
"Why can't you join us, hija?" asked the guest queen.
The king and queen who sheltered me are already smiling at me.
"Sit down, Kalla."
Even if I wanted to refuse, there was nothing I could do. I noticed that the prince was also looking at my veil tied on my wrist; even he had it too.
He tried to remove him, but his father stopped him.
"It's good that you taught Princess Theresa to socialize with other children. It is good for a princess to know how to reach out to her people." The guest queen said this with a smile.
"It's not because they're hard to get along with; I even ask her to call me by my name. I don't want him to call me Princess since we're friends. Isn't it Kalla?"
I'm trying to remember when she told me this. When is that? Did I forget
"Kalla!" she glared at me.
"Yes," I answered.
"Oh, I am starting to like you, Theresa. "Sometimes we will invite you to Parsua; I'm sure you and my children will get along well." The queen said it happily.
"I can't wait for that, Queen Talisha." It said "happy.
"Queen Talisha, why didn't you take your other children with you?" inserted by the King of Aragon.
"They are busy studying their lessons. It's only Finn who always runs away." The dining room was filled with laughter again.
"But we're also proud. Like Theresa, our children don't know how to be proud either. "They all know how to socialize with our subjects; Caleb and Evan almost live outside the palace to be with our office." I could see the twinkle in the queen's eyes as she told her children.
Their family must be full of happiness.
"I hope we can invite your kids sometime; they seem like good kids." I want to nod to what Queen Meiya said.
"Yes," the couple answered at the same time.
"Mom, dad, Lily, and Zen will be poor sometimes. When you find them both." The prince said it fatly.
I could see from his father, the king, that he wanted to scold him, but he stopped himself; instead, he smiled at us.
"Yes, sometimes two of my children also meet."
"They are kids; it's inevitable." King Aragon replied.
"If Finn and Theresa have that much in common, our princess doesn't like reading books either."
"Mother! You are giving them the wrong idea. I even teach Kalla my lessons; I love knowledge."
My hands are holding each other under the table. Theresa is lying; I usually answer her homework assignments from her teacher.
I learn and study alone.
"Isn't it Kalla?"
Since I have no power or position, I cannot disagree.
"Yes,"
"Wow, what a kind-hearted girl!" Kalla must be very lucky to have you as a friend; it's rare to have a noble like you, Theresa."
"No, I was raised properly by my parents."
Both King Thaddeus and his son Prince were frowning at me as if they didn't like the conversation going on.
"Then it's impossible you haven't read some of Leon Doyle's books? He is a great councilor from our empire. He has published many books."
I know Leon Doyle; he is a great writer, and I have read many of his books.
