I open my eyes to find myself alone. Being with my mate was amazing, and being marked was even better. I stretch out in the bed, my arm and leg coming in contact with the cold, cool sheets. I sigh and slowly sit up.

Hands are on my back, helping to steady me. I open my eyes, startled, and look up. Ivan is next to me, his hands caressing my body. How the hell did he get next to me so damn fast? “One of the many benefits of being a vampire.” I look at Ivan, stunned. It’s almost like he read my mind. “Not so much a mind reader, but I can sense different things in a person.
