Chapter 32. Update
I lean back in my chair and sigh. Yesterday was highly emotional, but I knew it would be. Thankfully, I didn’t have to address the pack; I let Paul have that honor. Was it an honor or a burden? I have no idea; I just know that it wasn’t something I wanted to do. I slept for the rest of the day, and now we need to meet. We have to get prepared before we have another attack.
The phone continues to ring as I turn the chair to the wall and look out the window. Nothing seems as bright as it was before, but I guess that’s to be expected. “H…Hello?”
“Hey, Jenna.”
“Tia?”
“Mmmhmmm.”
“I’m sorry for-”
“I’m sorry about-” We both chuckle more out of necessity than humor.
“Yeah,” Jenna responds and sighs.
“I wanted to get you on the phone before everyone gets in here. I guess we have some news and we need to figure out what we need to do now.”
