Tate suddenly let out a laugh, which made me turn to look at him. He then spoke again, still gazing at my mom’s gravestone. “Sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Miller, for acting all close. I just realized I haven’t even introduced myself to you yet…”
I couldn’t help but laugh at that. “Don’t worry, I’ve mentioned you to them before. It’s just… you never got to meet in person,” I explained with a smile.
“Wow… you told your mom and dad about me?” he asked, raising an eyebrow with a teasing grin. He wiggled his brows playfully, like he had caught me off guard.
What’s wrong with that, right? It didn’t mean anything special… we were just kids back then, and we were friends, after all.
“Of course, I told them. You’re my friend. Besides, I’ve always been honest with them… I even told them why Lee and I couldn’t come home right away sometimes—because we were waiting with you for your twin to finish training,” I explained further.
