Oh god. Here I go again.
A deep, overwhelming sleepiness washed over me, pulling me down like a heavy blanket. I tried to open my eyes, but when I finally managed to, I was met with the same blinding white light. It pierced through the haze in my head, making me squint. I didn’t need to look around to know where I was. I already understood what had happened to me.
I wanted to scream. I wanted to cry. Because I knew—without a doubt—that another few days had been wasted. Days that I should have spent awake. Days I couldn’t afford to lose.
I tried to sit up, but my limbs refused to obey. I was so weak, so tired. My body felt like it wasn’t mine anymore, as though it were filled with lead instead of blood. All I could do was lie there, staring at the relentless whiteness of the light above me.
