I stood up from my seat beside Lee, who was still sound asleep, unable to bear the pounding headache threatening to overwhelm me. The memories from our past life were colliding with new ones, intensifying the pain in my head.
I sank into Lee’s swivel chair in front of her vanity mirror, letting out a sharp exhale. Resting my elbows on the desk, I rubbed my temples with my fingers in circular motions, trying to ease the throbbing ache. The biting cold outside wasn’t helping either. It was snowing heavily again, and the heater, which I had turned on earlier, felt utterly useless. A shiver ran down my spine despite the layers I wore.
