Alanna closed the diary angrily. “How could Dad be such an idiot?”

Matheus came towards her and lay down next to her. “Why are you so angry?”

“My father didn’t mark my mother for possession. He marked her for being 16! What an inconsequential idiot.”

Matheus laughed. “Or an idiot in love. Haven’t you ever been 16?”

“But I’ve never hurt anyone! Have you done anything like that to anyone?”

“Of course not! But I’ve never been as in love as I am with you.”

Alanna crossed her legs over Matheus and kissed him.

“Our first time I had to stop myself from marking you. The moment I pulled your hair and your body came backwards, my instinct screamed, and I almost lost my sanity.” Matheus ran his fingers over Alanna’s mark. “It’s so beautiful.”

Matheus turned his body, leaving Alanna underneath, and kissed her.

“Look at this shamelessness in front of my granddaughter!”

“Hi, Mom…”

Matheus quickly got off Alanna, and she laughed.
