Chapter 18
John’s POV
The light of a new day had begun to peek through the curtains. The quiet peace of early morning was a welcome relief, a gentle pause in the usual hustle and bustle. It was a Sunday, a day typically associated with rest and relaxation, and I was grateful for the chance to ease into the day at my own pace.
Rising from my bed, I made my way to the kitchen, my bare feet padding softly against the cold floor. There, amidst the warm aroma of breakfast, I found Yana. She was already awake, busily moving about and preparing food. It was a sight that was both familiar and strange.
I slid into my usual spot at the kitchen table, my gaze falling upon a spread of food that was already laid out, ready for consumption. Yana had been busy, it seemed.
In a voice tinged with playful mockery, she greeted me, "Good morning, Christian John."
