Chapter 77

Matthew and Yana sat together, enjoying the mouth-watering spicy rice cake that Yana had just cooked. As they indulged in their delicious treat, Matthew suddenly called out Yana’s name, causing her to raise both of her eyebrows curiously.

In a somewhat serious tone, Matthew then dropped a bombshell, announcing that he would be leaving. Yana couldn’t believe her ears. "You’re leaving already? But you’ve only finished half of your rice cake," she exclaimed, pointing her spoon at his half-empty plate.

Matthew shook his head, a hint of worry crossing his face as he ruffled his hair. "No, it’s not that," he explained, "My Dad informed me that our family will be relocating to Australia."

Uncertainty clouded Yana’s mind. Was he joking? Was this for real? Either way, her heart sank. The wounds from her recent separation with John were still fresh, and now this news from Matthew only seemed to deepen the pain.
