Chapter 108. This Is Our Fight

Rosalie stood at the entrance of the family house as she watched Lance and Roxanne walk towards their car. She stayed with a smile on her face and bade them farewell with a wave.

Only when they had stepped into the car and driven away did she allow the smile in her lips to fade away.

The past was catching up, she thought and frowned, causing wrinkles to paint her delicate skin.

Her thought was interrupted as Louis suddenly showed up behind her. “Are they gone?” He asked, causing her to flinch. She looked back at him and glared. “Did I scare you?”

Rosalie sighed and ignored her husband’s comment. She closed the door, locked it and then walked towards the siting room. Now that both her favorite grandchildren were gone with their companions, the house felt empty, too big to just accommodate two people alone, even though it had been like that for years.

The sound of her sighing out loud drew Louis’s attention. “What’s wrong?” He asked.
