As Grace walked towards Henry’s study, she couldn’t help but worry about why he had suddenly come home so early and wanted to speak to her.

Was it because of Christopher’s behavior? Did he really wish to disown his own child?

“Useless.” She grumbled under her breath, finding it annoying when thinking that all her hard work of training and grooming Christopher for him to become the perfect Heir to Laurence Crop was suddenly about to go to waste.

As if reading her mind, the study’s door was open before she could reach it and Henry stood at the doorway. His gaze was hard as he stared down at her.

“Grace.” He spoke her name in a way that caused her to tense up, her hands tightening around her arm. “Come, we have quite a lot to talk about.”
