Chapter 73
Night had fallen, but Amelia’s bedroom was alive with the soft glow of her tablet and scattered documents strewn across the bed. She sat upright against the headboard, her phone pressed to her ear.
“Rex, I will need the numbers for Satin and Sage’s last quarter by tomorrow morning. And don’t forget the shipment update. Yes… good. Thanks.” She dropped the call and immediately scrolled down her contact list.
Her phone rang again.
“Dorian? Hi. How are things over there? …No, the orders must not be delayed, especially not this week. Make sure the delivery team doubles the schedule if they must. I will check in again tomorrow. Alright, thanks.”
She ended the call, sighed, and barely gave herself a second before dialing the next number.
The door creaked open just as she lifted the phone to her ear again. Mrs. Harlow stepped in, carrying a tray of food. She paused, took in the sight of her daughter drowning in papers and digital screens, and scoffed softly.
