Jace's POV

I had been left alone in the house with Garrett and I felt a lump in my chest while trying to fight the urge to go look into his room. I had things to do and they were my priority. I started focusing on getting the house tidied when suddenly, he came to check on me. I guess the saying about the mountain going to those who would not come see it was real after all. I was actually really glad to see him but somehow, I was shy and worried. Damon was somewhere in the house and he could walk in on us anytime soon. I reassure Garrett that I could take care of things here myself despite him offering to help me. I did not want him going all the way with me because that would be totally nuts.
