Chapter 41. What Are You Hiding, Elena?

Elena POV

Just as I am about to climb the stairs to the rooftop, I hear a voice that isn’t Alessandro call my name.

“Elena!”

I freeze.

The voice is too familiar and before I even turn back, I know who it is.

It’s Valentina’s.

I take a deep breath and slowly turn back to see Valentina and Gianna staring daggers at me.

“We’re right after all. You’re definitely up to something” Gianna speaks first, her voice laced with slight anger.

“And that was why you stayed behind in school till this time. Weren’t you scared of being alone in this big school and in the dark?” Valentina lashes out, with concern etched in her voice.

I swallow hard.
