Chapter 57. What Have I Gotten Myself Into?

We weave through the courtyard until we find a quiet, shaded corner behind the science building. Only then do I let go, spinning on him with my arms crossed.

“What are you doing here?” I demand, glaring up at him.

“Good morning to you too, little dove,” he says smoothly, leaning against the wall like he owns it.

“Nico, I’m serious. And don’t call me little dove when we’re outside” I retort.

“Why? You’re scared people will read the meaning into the nickname and think of what we do in the other room??” He teases me and I gasp.

“Shut the fuck up!” I hit him lightly on his chest and he chuckles.

“Why are you here again??” I repeat.

He shrugs lazily. “I told you I’d be around more often.”

“Yes, but here?” I press, my voice sharp. “At my school?!”

He tilts his head, watching me with those infuriatingly calm eyes.

“I’m doing my master’s here. And since I already have to be around…”He pauses, and steps closer
