Koko’s POV

I woke up this morning with aches all over my body, but then it was a soreness that I was fine with, my mate held me protectively to himself, his strong arms wrapped around me, keeping me warm all night. I could feel his mark on my neck and a shiver ran across my entire body.

I had always felt close to him, but there was something different now, like my feelings for him had been heated in a flame and was now ten times more intense than before.

“You’re smiling so much, are you that happy that I’ve finally marked you?” His voice suddenly burst into my thoughts, but as I was thinking of a response, I could also sense that he was smiling cheek from cheek.

“I…I could say the same to you too, Niyol…”

He pulled me even closer to him, but I didn’t feel close enough to him. We had finally gotten here, after all the people that had done their best to try and get in between our love, they had all failed.
