Chapter 6
He hadn’t marked me.
My mate hadn’t returned that night. I clutched the sheets to cover my nudity, still feeling so sore. Even if I had promised myself not to fall asleep, the tiredness took over.
I couldn’t stop glancing at the drawer where the cuff had been discarded. I hated being cuffed to the bed; it only made me feel more helpless.
I flinched when the door was pushed open. It was Damien. He walked cautiously towards me, as if afraid he was going to scare me if he made any sudden movements. News flash: he was already scary as it was. His intense gaze was on me; I felt like disappearing.
There was tension in the air, and again, I saw how impossible it would be to live with a man like him.
“How are you feeling?” he asked, and that surprised me. Why did he care?
