The Blood Moon Pack hadn't changed much since I left two years ago, but there was something different in the atmosphere; I knew it, I could almost feel it.
There are many things I didn't really think about and should have.
Like the stares I would be getting.
Damien's hands held mine assuringly; I would have shrugged his hands away, but I couldn't deny that with him by my side, I felt some sense of safety. Everyone stared at me; they whispered too. I could feel their gaze burning through me. I pretended not to care; but it did get on my nerve. I was grateful that I had wrapped up Kaden in the blood red blanket; I knew there would be more whispers if they did see his face.
This felt like some cringe-worthy movie, but in my case, I was not in elegant, beautiful clothing. I wore a simple blue blouse and ripped jeans—nothing elegant, nothing beautiful.
