“Miguel, who is she for you to act like this? Is she truly that essential to you that you treat me this way?” 

Her heart wrenched as she asked this question. He was in turmoil as well, looking at her in astonishment at what he said. 

He had no idea why he had just spoken about what he had just said. His statements sounded a little too strong, given that he was telling this to his wife of nearly two decades. 

And, based on how his comments came out, it appeared as if he actually has someone important outside whom he loves and wishes to protect. But how could he tell her that the words had just slipped out of his mouth without him realizing it? 

He was still a guy, and he felt proud of himself. He couldn’t take the words back because they had already been spoken. 

“Whatever thoughts you have right now, keep them to yourself. If you want my assistance, take the bargain or leave it!” he said flatly, leaving no space for debate. <
