"Malia!" Amanda shouted and ran after her. "Malia, slow down!"

"Leave me alone." 

"Malia, please don't let his words get to you. You know how our father is. You know that...."

Malia paused and turned to face Amanda. She had a serene smile on her face. "It's okay, I'm fine. We're used to him already. "

Malia turned and continued walking to her room. Then she paused and whipped around to face Amanda. "One thing though."

"Could you drive me home? Please?"

"Are you sure? You don't want to come stay with me for a bit?"

"No. It's fine. I'm going home today, right now even."

Amanda nodded. "Sure. Get your things. I'll get my keys."
