Chapter 54

She munched on an eclair and pondered on the answer. She couldn't find one. She shrugged it off and focused on Dr Caleb working on some papers on his desk.

"How long will you stay here?" He suddenly asked her.

"As long as I want to." She replied. "Are you sending me out?"

"No."

She giggled. "It's fine. I won't ask you to deliver therapist services today."

Dr Caleb shook his head. "Thank you for your kindness."

She did a small happy dance. "You're welcome."

"I know this is personal, but would you like me to relay today's visit to your father?"

Malia froze. Of course, Dr Caleb reported directly to his employer - her father. She swallowed the eclair she had been chewing. "Could you skip today's meeting? Please?"

He glanced at her briefly. "Is that okay?"

Malia nodded. "Yes."

He opened his mouth to say something but sighed. "Fine. I won't tell him."

"Thank you."

He smiled softly at her and returned to his work
