Chapter 17. Elwood Echeverri
With his mouth open, he stared at me with wide eyes. He quickly leaned back in his chair, and smacked his palm against his forehead.
“How did it happen?” he asked suspiciously.
“I hired an investigator a year ago. I gave him all the information I could to find Zekiah. And only in recent months have I received information about him.”
“Are you sure about that? Maybe that investigator is just fooling you because of the big reward in return?”
“I’m with him at home.” I’m sure I said.
“No, you can’t be serious, Emory!” he raised his eye brows, clench hand over his head.
“I’m dead serious, Ellwood! He’s alive, he’s alive... and I already talked to him.” I quickly response. It was too late for me to retract what I said because his eyebrows seemed to rise even higher at the last thing I said.
“Isn’t that the ghost you say you can talk to?” he said, crinkle his eyes and nose.
“Ellie!” I shut him a look, and muttered some curses.
