Chapter 24
Ava’s body tensed; her blood was boiling as she stormed into the Liam mansion. There was no sign of any housekeepers. She was about to run up the stairs when she heard the sound of heels approaching. “Are you back?”
She swiveled and Luna was standing only four feet away from her. She had a smile on her face. A smile that Ava wanted to strangle away from her lips. “I am not back, Luna,” Ava spat out with spite. “I am here for you.”
“You missed me?” Her feign of ignorance was perfect. She had managed to fool everyone.
“It seems so,” Ava answered as she descended the stairs. “You were with my father the day he died.”
“I was,” she folded her arms to her chest. “If I had known he would die like that, I would have spent more time with him. Do you want tea?” Luna asked and started heading to the kitchen.
“Why? So, you can poison me the way you poisoned him?”
Luna turned around. Her gaze was intent. Brooding. “What do you mean?”
