Chapter 46. A Battle for Hina's Fate
My gaze searched the crowd, taking in the imposing presence of the Oak Pack, the watchful Mountain Guards, and Hina, who was now a few feet behind me. Their collective attention weighed heavily on me as if I were a monument being examined.
"Maya from the Mountain!" I yelled out, my voice firm and commanding. "What makes you want to take Hina away from me?"
Maya, who was big and intimidating, took a step forward. "Hina is a member of the Mountain Pack; she rightfully belongs with us," she stated emphatically.
I said, shaking my head, my medium-brown hair falling down my back, "Hina is not a prisoner here; I willingly gave her shelter."
"You have no idea how dangerous she is," explained Maya.
"What is the danger?" I inquired, hoping to completely comprehend the issue.
"For a young bride, staying here instead of in the mountains poses risks at every second," she explained.
"I will not allow you to take her against her will," I declared emphatic
