Chapter 74. Hunting the West

Xavier's Pov

Never before had I felt so completely helpless. The wild creatures' persistent onslaught was wearing on our pack members, and my thoughts raced in quest of a solution as more of those ruthless beings descended on us.

Everyone was exhausted, but the animals showed no indications of giving up. Hours had gone, and with each passing instant, hope for success faded.

"Aim for the head!" I yelled urgently to Jerry as he aimed at one of the beasts approaching him, all while I sat helplessly in my wheelchair.

The thought dawned on me that we were wasting our efforts. These white wild bears were immune to damage, impenetrable to our attacks, and untouchable due to their immortality. Meeting these monsters from the West, the most dangerous and indestructible species, was a terrible turn of events I could never have predicted.

Even Maya's strong mountain army seemed helpless in the face of these tenacious foes, who had now entrenched their supremacy.<
