Chapter 77. Aftershock
Sansa's Pov
"I thought I was insane; there was no way to save her, her skin was splitting, her body exuded lava-like heat, and I couldn't even lift her. Vera was doing havoc on Hina, who appeared to have given up resisting," said Ray's voice quivered, revealing the depth of his despair.
We could all see the sorrow on his face as he watched Hina's condition deteriorate. Some of the pack's emotional members couldn't help but cry.
I felt bad for my past doubts and realized I had misunderstood Ray without knowing the whole tale. We were both victims of Vera's deception, and I had unintentionally drawn him into the experience.
"I arrived at the mansion," continued Ray, as I began to piece together the puzzle.
While Ray was buried in concentration, I clung to a sheet from the balcony above him, ready to flee the mansion that night.
I mistook his concerned demeanor and the blood on his palm as evidence of guilt back then, oblivious to the hidden truth.
